The Broken Pearl Necklace

So I came across the post  Picture it & Write and here’s my version of it :)

ballet slippers in the forest

Sorry dear mother , our shadows do not coincide
Inherited may be your genes , your dreams not so
Forgive my frustration , patiently waiting to erupt
When I broke your necklace , it was far too much
I associate with black , do not drown me in pink
Eight a princess , eighteen rather an assassin
Gloves of leather , not lace , my trembling toes
struggle to please you , bored beet cheeks
are flaring from self hatred , not feminine fragility.

Thick roots have grown , but branches my own
Stop directing them , I do not wish to deform
myself for you , my sympathy at your loss is true
Ambition urges me towards roads abandoned by you
I plead for freedom , my sacrifice bleeds dry
Must I fouetté myself out of this , mother ?
Let swans be swaddled , eagles are extensive
Tonight the stars constellate for my performance
Empty is the dance floor , but  brimming are my goals .

This blog is, in many ways, reflections of things that have happened, thoughts and ideas, possibilities and dreams. I'm not sure which direction it will go, the temptation is to let things go and see where the words take us . . join me, it should be an interesting ride
